Eric Dane Is Excited About ‘Euphoria’ Returning Because HBO “Allows Us To Do Whatever The F*ck We Want”

It sounds like it’s a bit of a miracle that “Euphoria” is returning for another season. There was all the reported behind-the-scenes drama surrounding creator Sam Levinson, including rumors of a rift between him and star Zendaya. However, things seem to all worked out, and one person super excited about returning is actor Eric Dane.

Speaking to Variety, Eric Dane talked about his feelings regarding Season 3 of “Euphoria” given a greenlight. According to the actor, he was “optimistic” about the return, but he’s really excited for the creative freedom the show has at the network.

“I was optimistic that it was going to come back so I’m very happy,” Dane said. “I know there’s a massive appetite for it out in the marketplace. There’s a huge audience, and I love making it. I love the people I work with. I love working with Sam Levinson. I have a great time. HBO is supportive in allowing us to do whatever the fuck we want to do.”

It’s not a shock that HBO lets Sam Levinson do whatever he wants on “Euphoria.” The show has always pushed boundaries, and judging by the first two seasons’ viewership and awards success, things have paid off handsomely for the network. So, why wouldn’t HBO give full creative control over to Levinson and Co. This is a show that doesn’t shy away from sexuality, addiction, and abuse. It’s a show that wears the “provocative” badge like a medal of honor.

Obviously, it’s far too soon to know when we might expect Season 3 of “Euphoria” to debut on HBO. With production starting in early 2025, there’s a chance it could return by the end of next year. But with all the reports that talk about how long it takes for Levinson to craft the show, it could be 2026 before we seen the show return.
