'Euphoria' Trailer: Zendaya's New HBO Series Tackles Sex, Drugs, & High School

Either “Euphoria” is an incredibly exaggerated look at modern high school life for teens or I’m just really, really old. (Granted that second option might be unrelated, but still very much true.) The new HBO series presents a version of high school that might look completely foreign for a majority of folks over 30, as the scene is dominated by drugs, sex, drama, and parties. Oh wait, maybe it’s not so different?

In the first full trailer for “Euphoria,” we’re presented with our hero, a young woman (Zendaya) that is dealing with her addiction problems, while also trying to navigate the shitty world of being a teen in high school. Her life is thrown for a curve when she meets a new girl and begins to see life a bit differently.

“Euphoria” comes to us from writer-producer Sam Levinson, the man who brought audiences last year’s “Assassination Nation.” And much like that film, the new HBO series seems to take a very stylized look at what it means to be a teenager in today’s society, with bright colors, stylish clothing, and plenty of sex.

Zendaya is joined by Maude Apatow, Angus Cloud, Eric Dane, Alexa Demie, Jacob Elordi, Barbie Ferreira, Nika King, Storm Reid, Hunter Schafer, Algee Smith, and Sydney Sweeney in the cast.
