'Evil Dead' Will Now Arrive In Theaters One Week Earlier To Scare The Bejesus Out Of You

nullIn case the marketing hasn't confirmed it you by now, Sony is basically hoping you'll soil yourself watching "Evil Dead." Just take a run over to the Facebook page and you'll see that every post is basically about how much this thing is gonna make you ill. And now you'll get to find out if you should bring a diaper to the screening one week earlier than expected.

Bruce Campbell hit Twitter last night to announce: "The world cannot wait. The Evil Dead remake launches one week earlier! 4/5/13. You demanded it – you got it!" Becuase people were apparently demanding it. The shift gets movie out of a weekend were it would have squared off against the baseball drama "42" and the parody "Scary Movie 5," and now positions it against "Jurrasic Park 3D" which is a pretty fascinating roll of the dice. But considering the remake is a very hard R, it's not like it's going to lose ticket sales to Steven Spielberg's landmark movie. The crossover audience between the two probably isn't that large.

So, scariest movie ever or most aggressive marketing of 2013 so far? We'll find out even sooner when "Evil Dead" premieres at SXSW in March.
