There are some people who make art to create something beautiful, and others who do so to effect change, but artist Lily Yeh accomplishes both with her works. Her journey is profiled in the upcoming documentary "The Barefoot Artist," and today we have an exclusive trailer for the film.
Co-directed by Glenn Holsten and Daniel Traub, the film tells the story of Yeh, who travels to some of the most troubled areas in the world and uses community based projects to assist in rebuilding these places emotionally and spiritually. The movie also dips into Yeh’s personal life, exploring her own fascinating history as a Chinese born, American educated woman, the discoveries she makes about her roots and the reasons she has been dedicated to fostering art in the unlikeliest of places.
"The Barefoot Artist" opens in NY on December 5th at the IFC Center, and in LA on December 18th at Laemmle NoHo 7 via Paladin. Check out the trailer and poster below.
