Every so often, we like to shine a light on rising talent, and today we’re happy to bring some attention to Louis Paxton. The emerging Scottish filmmaker has a number of short works to his name, but it’s “Satan With A Bushy Tail” that has made the biggest impact to date — and with good reason.
Starring Tom Bennett (who you might know from his hilarious supporting turn in Whit Stillman‘s “Love & Friendship“) and veteran Richard Durden, and produced by Chiara Ventura, this clever buddy comedy follows Hugh, recently separated from his wife, who goes to stay with his newly widowed grandfather, Derek. However, there’s not much time for pleasantries as Hugh is soon roped into Derek’s quest to get rid of a pesky squirrel in the yard, leading them on a hilarious, heartwarming adventure.
Winner of several awards at festivals around the globe, “Satan Has A Bushy Tail” is a witty treat, and well worth carving out fifteen minutes to enjoy. Paxton is currently at work developing his first feature film, and it’s one we’ll certainly keep an ear on the ground for.
