The Makeup and Hairstyling branch of the Academy of Motion Pictures Arts and Sciences has made its 2025 selections. Well, they have made their Oscars Shortlist selections. Stepping into the spotlight are 10 films hoping to make the five-nominee cut. They include “The Substance,” “Beetlejuice Beetlejuice,” “Nosferatu,” and, in no surprise, “Wicked.”

The other six films rounding out the field are “The Apprentice,” “A Different Man,” “Dune: Part Two,” “Maria,” “Waltzing with Brando,” and “Emilia Perez.”
Overall, “Emilia Perez” led all films with six mentions in the 10 categories. “Wicked” and “Beetlejuice Beetlejuice” earned 4 while “Dune: Part Two,” “Gladiator II,” “The Wild Robot,” “Alien: Romulus,” and “Blitz” earned 3 each. “Nosferatu,” “Mufasa: The Lion King,” “The Six Triple Eight,” “Deadpool & Wolverine,” “Sing Sing,” “Better Man,” “Dahomey,” and “Challengers” earned 2 respectively.
