It's been nearly two decades since Ausssies P.J. Hogan and Toni Collette arrived with the smash hit "Muriel's Wedding," which launched both the director and actress' career in big ways. Not only was the movie a crowdpleaser that connected with audiences everywhere, Hogan and Collette picked up BAFTA and Golden Globes nominations for their work, respectively. They've both been very busy since 1994 riding that wave of success to other projects, but now the pair are finally back together.
"Mental" is their latest effort, one that once again brings heartwarming humor to the fore, and after opening overseas in the fall, it's coming to theaters stateside. We've got the excusive U.S. poster for the picture that finds Collette playing Shaz, an eccentric woman who helps a desperate father take care of his five lively daughters when their ill mother is commited to a hospital. Liev Schreiber leads a supporting cast that also includes Anthony LaPaglia, Rebecca Gibney ("Packed to the Rafters"), Kerry Fox ("Cloudstreet," "Bright Star"), Caroline Goodall ("Dorian Gray"), Deborah Mailman ("Offspring," "Bran Nue Dae"), and Sam Clark ("Neighbours").
"Mental" opens on March 29th.
