“Extraction” was a massive hit for Netflix when it debuted back in April 2020. Sure, it was the height of the pandemic, but the action film starring Chris Hemsworth became one of the biggest original films in the history of the streaming service. Obviously, that means a sequel was inevitable.

As seen in the trailer for “Extraction 2,” the sequel picks up where the first one left off. Hemsworth’s Tyler Rake was presumed dead at the end of “Extraction,” but he actually survived. Now, he is a badass soldier in search of a new mission. And wouldn’t you know it? He gets enlisted in yet another extraction mission where he has to save a woman and her kids. Of course, lots of gunfights, punches, and explosions follow as Chris Hemsworth beats the hell out of nameless, faceless guys along the way.
Joining Hemsworth in the cast are Golshifteh Farahani, Tornike Gogrichiani, Adam Bessa, Daniel Bernhardt, Tinatin Dalakishvili, and Olga Kurylenko. Director Sam Hargrave also returns for this sequel, as does writer-producer Joe Russo.
“Extraction 2” debuts on Netflix on June 16. You can watch the trailer below.
Here’s the synopsis:
