Workplace romance is a tricky game. Sure, sometimes it can work out and be a wonderful thing. But other times, the relationship can turn competitive and possibly toxic, resulting not only in heartbreak but serious professional issues. The latter seems to be the case, but taken to the extreme, in the new film “Fair Play.”

As seen in the trailer for “Fair Play,” the film follows the story of a man and a woman who are madly in love and ready to get married. The only problem is they haven’t revealed the illicit relationship to their coworkers at a massive hedge fund. And right as they’re going to announce the big news, a huge position opens up in the firm, leading to a ridiculous competition between the two lovers to see who will succeed and make it out on top. Needless to say, it doesn’t seem like it’s going to end well for our two love birds.
The cast for the thriller includes Phoebe Dynevor, Alden Ehrenreich, and Eddie Marsan. “Fair Play” is written and directed by Chloe Domont. She’s a veteran TV director, helming episodes of shows like “Ballers,” “Clarice,” “Suits,” and “Billions.”
“Fair Play” debuts in select theaters on September 29 before hitting Netflix on October 13. You can watch the trailer below.
