Now that the dust has settled and we officially live in a post-“Avengers: Endgame” world, we can look towards the future. Sure, we have the upcoming “Spider-Man: Far From Home,” but there are also those shows on Disney+ that Kevin Feige and Marvel Studios are developing. And according to some recent news, it appears that “Falcon and Winter Soldier” is going to have a lot more in common with the film franchise than other Marvel TV shows.
Normally, with a TV series, a showrunner is involved and the show is written by a group of screenwriters and directed by a group of helmers. That’s just how things are being done. But for Marvel Studios and the upcoming “Falcon and Winter Soldier,” those traditional rules are being thrown out the window.

Deadline is reporting that Marvel Studios has hired Kari Skogland to direct all six episodes of the limited series that is set to star Anthony Mackie and Sebastian Stan. In addition, Malcolm Spellman is the sole writer. Apparently, the studio is treating “Falcon and Winter Soldier” as a six-episode movie, and less like a traditional series. And the series is going to have some more familiar faces.
Skogland is a veteran director, but she is probably best known for her TV work recently, on series like “The Walking Dead,” “House of Cards,” “The Punisher,” and “The Handmaid’s Tale.”
The report also states that Daniel Bruhl and Emily Van Camp are in talks to join the series as well, reprising their roles as Zemo and Sharon Carter, respectively. Both characters were last seen in “Captain America: Civil War,” where Carter was Steve Rogers love interest and CIA agent and Zemo was the main villain that drove a wedge between the heroes.
Many fans were upset by the use of Zemo in ‘Civil War.’ The villain has been a mainstay in the Captain America mythos for decades, and is one of the character’s best adversaries. It’ll be exciting to see how Marvel Studios brings him back. In addition, with the events of ‘Endgame,’ Sam Wilson, aka Falcon, is now the new Captain America, and the report says the series will reflect that development.
