Got a Tip?

‘Falcon & The Winter Soldier’ Trailer: Captain America’s Shield Is Up For Grabs In Marvel’s New Series Coming in March

At the end of “Avengers: Endgame,” we saw the Old Man Steve version of Captain America hand over the coveted shield to his pal Sam Wilson, aka Falcon, played by Anthony Mackie. It’s clear that Steve Rogers wanted Falcon to take over the mantle of Captain America. But in the new series “The Falcon and the Winter Soldier,” it’s clear that not everyone agrees with Steve Rogers’ wishes.

As seen in the trailer for “The Falcon and the Winter Soldier,” Sam Wilson isn’t quite ready to take on Captain America’s name and take control of the shield. In fact, the government has other ideas, as they want to give the red, white, and blue super suit to a new guy named John Walker. Wilson must then enlist the help of Winter Soldier, aka Bucky Barnes, played by Sebastian Stan, to fight the bad guys and protect Captain America’s legacy.

Joining Mackie and Sebastian Stan in the series’s cast are Daniel Brühl, Emily VanCamp, and Wyatt Russell. ‘Falcon’ is created and showrun by Malcolm Spellman. The producer is probably best known for his work on the hit Fox drama series, “Empire.” Kari Skogland is on board as the director of all of the episodes. Her most recent work has been on the TV series “The Rook” and “NOS4A2.”

Originally, the series was supposed to arrive in August, but COVID-19 forced the production to shut down in Europe. However, the show was recently able to finish production and is on track for release next year. “The Falcon and the Winter Soldier” will arrive on Disney+, March 19, 2021.

Here’s the synopsis:

Following the events of “Avengers: Endgame,” Sam Wilson/Falcon (Anthony Mackie) and Bucky Barnes/Winter Soldier (Sebastian Stan) team up in a global adventure that tests their abilities—and their patience—in Marvel Studios’ “The Falcon and The Winter Soldier.”
