“Killers of the Flower Moon”
Directed and produced by Martin Scorsese, “Killers of the Flower Moon” centers on the Oklahoma murders in the Osage Nation during the 1920s after oil was discovered on tribal land. Scorsese co-wrote the screenplay with Eric Roth based on David Grann’s book of the same name. The film, which the Osage Nation collaborated on, stars Leonardo DiCaprio, Robert De Niro, Lily Gladstone, Jesse Plemons, Tantoo Cardinal, John Lithgow, and Brendan Fraser.

“The Exorcist: Believer“
Having already revived the “Halloween” franchise with a new trilogy (that had major highs and lows), filmmaker David Gordon Green sets his eyes on one more classic horror series for good measure in this new legacy-sequel to “The Exorcist” that features the original actress Ellen Burstyn. A Blumhouse production, the company that helped him resurrect Michael Myers, the film also stars Leslie Odom Jr., Ann Dowd, Jennifer Nettles, Norbert Leo Butz, Lidya Jewett, and Olivia Marcum.

“Divinity”
A surreal sounding horror/sci-fi, this film is set in an otherworldly human existence where scientist Sterling Pierce dedicated his life to the quest for immortality, slowly creating the building blocks of a groundbreaking serum named “Divinity.” Beyond that intriguing premise, “Divinity” is exec-produced and presented by Steven Soderbergh, premiered at Sundance earlier this year and is directed by Eddie Alcazar (“Perfect,” “The Vandal“). The film’s cast is super eclectic too starring Stephen Dorff, Moises Arias, Jason Genao, Karrueche Tran, Mike O’Hearn, Emily Willis with Scott Bakula and Bella Thorne.

“Anatomy Of A Fall”
Sandra, Samuel, and Daniel have lived in a remote town in the French Alps for the last year. When Samuel is suddenly found dead in the snow below their chalet, the police question how he died leading to an investigation into his death and his and Sandra’s relationship. “Anatomy of a Fall” is directed by Justine Triet and stars Sandra Hüller, Swann Arlaud, Milo Machado Graner, Antoine Reinartz, Samuel Theis, Jehnny Beth, Saadia Bentaïeb, Camille Rutherford, Anne Rotger, and Sophie Fillières.

“What Happens Later”

As they walk down memory lane and compare their lives to the dreams they once shared, they wonder if their circumstances are just coincidence or fate. Written and directed by Meg Ryan, who also stars alongside David Duchovny.

“The Delinquents“
Having already received its world premiere in the Un Certain Regard section at the 76th Cannes Film Festival in May (read our review), this Argentinian heist comedy-drama from writer/director Rodrigo Moreno is, by all accounts, a great riot. And so acclaimed, the movie will also appear at the Toronto International Film Festival and The New York Film Festival later this fall.

“The Persian Version“
A big comedy drama hit at Sundance earlier this year, Sony Pictures Classics quickly scooped up this one. Helmed by writer/director Maryam Keshavarz, the film starrs Layla Mohammadi, Niousha Noor, Bijan Daneshmand, Bella Warda, Tom Byrne and centers on a young Iranian-American filmmaker clashes with her mother and learns of a family secret, while her father recovers from a heart transplant.

“Damsel”
Millie Bobby Brown stars as a dutiful damsel who agrees to marry a prince who discovers that the marriage was a trap. The truth is that the royal family she married into actually plans to sacrifice her to repay a debt, and she must rely solely on her wits to survive. Alongside Brown, the film stars Angela Bassett, Robin Wright, Ray Winstone, Nick Robinson, Brooke Carter, and Shohreh Aghdashloo.

“Nyad”
Having already won the Best Documentary Oscar for “Free Solo,” and known for intense, nerve-wracking adventure docs like “Meru,” “The Rescue” and more, filmmakers Elizabeth Chai Vasarhelyi and Jimmy Chin, have more than proven they know how to create nail-biting thrillers. Naturally, they have moved into the world of drama with “Nyad,” a sports drama, starring Annette Bening as swimmer Diana Nyad,[] alongside Jodie Foster and Rhys Ifans. At the age of 60, Nyad, with the help of her best friend and coach swam a 110-mile open ocean swim from Cuba to Florida, and this is that remarkable tale.

“Pain Hustlers”
Said to be a revealing look at what some people do out of desperation and others do out of greed, “Pain Hustlers” follows Liza Drake, who lost her job and is at the end of her rope until she meets Pete Brenner, a pharmaceutical rep, who brings her into a dangerous racketeering scheme. Emily Blunt stars as Liz alongside Chris Evans, Andy Garcia, Catherine O’Hara, Jay Duplass, Brian d’Arcy James, and Chloe Coleman. The film is directed by David Yates.

“Fingernails”
Apple’s upcoming sci-fi film, “Fingernails” follows a woman as she begins working at an institute that works to determine if romance between a couple is genuine. The film is written and directed by Christos Nikou and stars Jessie Buckley, Riz Ahmed, Jeremy Allen White, Luke Wilson, and Annie Murphy. The “Fingernails” will premiere at TIFF in September, before hitting theaters and streaming.
