As evident by our massive Fall Movie Preview, there are so many films to get excited about in the coming months. From September to December, there are plenty of films out there for everyone, including tentpole fare (“The Predator,” “Aquaman,” “Bumblebee“), potential provocation (“Mandy,” “Climax,” “Suspiria,” “Under the Silver Lake“), dramas (“The Old Man and the Gun,” “First Man,” “Widows,” “If Beale Street Could Talk“), and Netflix throwing down the gauntlet (“The Land of Steady Habits,” “Hold the Dark,” “Apostle,” “Outlaw King,” “The Ballad of Buster Scruggs“). On paper, the fall film festival lineup – as well as the overall fall release calendar – is one of the strongest in recent memory. It’s the kind of lineup that when a family member inevitably complains to you that “there’s nothing good out right now,” that you can politely point them in the direction of many of these films.
