‘Fanboys’… Whatever

If you’re a guy who lives in your parent’s basement, writes a movie blog, even vaguely resembles the Comic Book store guy’s tumescent mien, and have actually watched one of the ‘Star Wars’ prequels in the last five years by choice, chances are you’ll probably enjoy Kyle Newman’s long-delayed (and for good reason) “Fanboys.” Sure all those pejoratives are like shooting fish in a barrel, but if that’s the case, the obvious jokes and paper-thin story line of this waste of celluloid is akin to using weapons of mass destruction on the same unsuspecting bait.

If you’re an adult, who refuses (or better yet forgets how) to quote episodes of “The Simpsons” chances are you won’t. If you happen to think Kevin Smith is remotely funny, you’ll probably eat this turd up and call it a sundae. We’ll admit to two or three ridiculous guffaws (Danny McBride), but mostly this is just a timewarp of ’90s man child arrested development that feels painfully dated and irrelevant.
