'Firefly Lane' Trailer: Katherine Heigl & Sarah Chalke Star In This Tale Of Friendship Over Decades

Friendship endures in the new Netflix original series “Firefly Lane.” The project features Katherine Heigl and Sarah Chalke as central characters intent on weathering life’s milestones. The series is based on Kristin Hannah’s bestselling novel—the writer is also credited as co-executive producer. Showrunner Maggie Freedman is confident about the project’s appeal to those unfamiliar with the original material. “People new to the story will enjoy following these two very different women and their journey from wild, free ‘70s kids, to ambitious ‘80s career women, to dealing with the fallout of their life choices in the 2000s,” Freedman said when asked about viewers who have never read Hannah’s original novel. The show is also promising details that will keep fans of the book enthralled, including jumps to various decades in the characters’ lives as opposed to the linear story structure.
