First Look At Rachel Weisz Alongside Jeremy Renner In 'The Bourne Legacy'

nullOf all the summer blockbusters on the way in the coming months, "The Bourne Legacy" is the one that's been keeping its cards closest to its chest. Even against the relatively secretive likes of "The Dark Knight Rises," Tony Gilroy's film, the fourth in the 'Bourne' franchise and the first without original star Matt Damon, has only unveiled a handful of stills and one stylish, '70s-style TV trailer, with only the barest minimum of details about the film revealed so far (many of them in our own chat with Gilroy).

But with just over two months until the film hits theaters, the curtain is about to be lifted a little. A full trailer will debut in front of "Snow White and the Huntsman" this week and a new image arrived over the weekend in the print edition of Entertainment Weekly, which gives us the first real glimpse of one of the film's key characters: Marta, played by Oscar-winner Rachel Weisz, alongside new protagonist Aaron Cross (Jeremy Renner). Details of the part are still under wraps, but Weisz appears to be a civilian who somehow crosses paths with Renner's character. But you won't get details from her. "What am I allowed to say? I think almost nothing at all," she told EW. Some have speculated that she is in the employ of the CIA program that helped turn Renner's character into a master assassin. "I'm so paranoid, I'm sorry," she said when probed at all. But clearly they end up on the run together, Weisz seemingly fitting into the Franka Potente/Julia Stiles-type role.

How exactly she plays into the story remains to be seen, but we should find a lot more from that aforementioned trailer when it debuts sometime between now and Friday. "The Bourne Legacy" also stars Edward Norton, Oscar Isaac, Joan Allen, David Strathairn, Albert Finney, Stacy Keach, Scott Glenn, Corey Stoll and Donna Murphy, and the film hits theaters on August 3rd.
