Ok, perhaps they’re not the most exciting thing to look at, but here are a collection of recently shot first-looks of Matt Damon and Emily Blunt on the set of “The Adjustment Bureau” (via JustJared and here), the possibly sci-fi-ish love story directed by George Nolfi (writer of “The Bourne Ultimatum”) and co-starring Shohreh Aghdashloo and Anthony Mackie.
It’s based on a Philip K. Dick short story and tells the the story of an affair between a politician (Damon) and a ballerina (Blunt) that is affected by mysterious forces keeping the lovers apart. And yes, so far there’s nothing sci-fi looking about it aside from Dick’s pedigree. Current Mayor of New York City Mike Bloomberg looks like he’s making a cameo in the film as well, likely just playing a himself — a politician.
And lastly, has Tim Robbins joined the cast? Mmm, probably not. The film was shot in New York and in the West Village where Robbins lives, so it’s likely he just visited the set (we’ve seen him walking around often), but here’s to some wishful thinking. “The Adjustment Bureau” should hit theaters sometime in 2010 and will be the second film hitting next year that features a ballerina in mysterious circumstances (don’t forget Darren Aronofsky’s “Black Swan,” though that one will probably center closer around the world of ballet).
