'Five Nights At Freddy's' Teaser: Josh Hutcherson Takes On Evil Animatronic Mascots In Blumhouse's Video Game Adaptation

To say the “Five Nights at Freddy’s” video game franchise is a hit would be a great understatement. Over the course of nine video games, the franchise has grown to become one of the biggest in the industry and has accumulated a ton of fans who go out and buy all the toys, tie-in novels, and various other merchandise. It was only a matter of time before a film was made, and that’s exactly what Blumhouse is doing.

As seen in the teaser for “Five Nights at Freddy’s,” Blumhouse has brought the popular video game franchise to life in a new horror film. The story follows a security guard who starts a new job at Freddy Fazbear’s Pizza, a Chuck E. Cheese-esque kid’s restaurant filled with animatronic mascots. Unfortunately for the security guard, as the night continues, the animatronics start to come to life and hunt him down.

The film stars Josh Hutcherson, Elizabeth Lail, Piper Rubio, Kat Conner Sterling, Mary Stuart Masterson, and Matthew Lillard. “Five Nights at Freddy’s” is directed by Emma Tammi, who co-wrote the script alongside Scott Cawthon and Seth Cuddeback. Tammi is probably best known for her breakout thriller, “The Wind.” Since then, she’s been a favorite of Blumhouse and has directed two installments in the horror anthology series, “Into the Dark.”

“Five Nights at Freddy’s” debuts in theaters on October 27. You can watch the trailer below.
