What do you get when you cross “Narcos” with HGTV? Well, in short, you get “Flipped,” the new series that is coming to the Quibi streaming service later this year. And in the new trailer for the series, the ridiculous premise seems to work actually way better than you might expect.
“Flipped” tells the story of a miserable couple that comes up with the idea that they’d be perfect to host one of those home renovation shows you see on TV all the time. And while they’re renovating their first home, they come across a stash of $500,000 that they then use to make sure they’re turned into TV stars. However, as you might have guessed, the money is actually hidden by a drug cartel that then abducts the couple. Hijinks ensue.
The series comes from writers-creators Steve Mallory and Damon Jones. Ryan Case is onboard as director of the streaming show. “Flipped” stars Will Forte, Kaitlin Olson, Andy Garcia, Eva Longoria, and Arturo Castro.

Now, for those unfamiliar with Quibi, the most interesting aspect of “Flipped” (and any show on the platform, for that matter) is just how the series will take advantage of the service’s idea that shows should be split up into 10-minute chunks that can be easily consumable on a mobile device. In fact, viewers likely won’t even get the option to view “Flipped” on a TV screen, as Quibi is being marketing solely for mobile devices and folks looking for content on the go.
The series joins the upcoming “Fugitive” remake on Quibi, which is set to launch in April. You can watch the trailer for “Flipped” below.
