'Fountain Of Youth': Eiza González Joins Jon Krasinski & Natalie Portman On Guy Ritchie's Adventure Pic

Guy Ritchie loves working with the same actors over and over again. So is it any surprise that Eiza González joins his upcoming pic “Fountain Of Youth“? Deadline reports that the actress joins John Krasinski and Natalie Portman on the Apple adventure film, her third Ritchie film in a row. The Ministry Of Ungentlemanly Warfare with Henry Cavill and González hits theaters on April 19, while an untitled actioner with Cavill, González and “The Covenant” star Jake Gyllenhaal is in post-production now.

But back to “Fountain Of Youth.” Apple and Skydance Media announced the film last week, which sees Ritchie direct a buzzy script by “Zodiac” scribe James Vanderbilt. Execs loved Vanderbilt’s script but wanted the right package, which they found when Ritchie boarded after Krasinski circled the project for months. “Fountain Of Youth” is a joint production between Apple, Skydance, Vinson Films, and Project X Entertainment.

So what’s “Fountain Of Youth” about? Krasinski and Portman star as estranged siblings who partner up on a globe-trotting journey to find the mythological Fountain of Youth. While reluctant to work together, their mutual knowledge of history and lore could help lead them to the prize, and possibly immortality. It’s unclear who González will play in the picture, so stay tuned on that.

David EllisonDana Goldberg, and Don Granger co-produce the film through Skydance.  Tripp Vinson produces through his Vinson Films, while Vanderbilt, William Sherak, and Paul Neinstein do so through their Project X banner. Ritchie also produces with Ivan Atkinson and Jake Myers. Also of note: the Radio Silence  crew (Matt Bettinelli-OlpinTyler Gillett, and Chad Villella) serve as executive producers on “Fountain Of Youth.”

As noted earlier, “Fountain Of Youth” will be three Ritchie flicks in a row for González. But she’s not exclusive to the British director, who’s in the midst of the most torrid stretch of his career. She stars next in David Benioff and D.B. Weiss‘ “Three Body Problem” for Netflix. González alsohas sci-fi horror pic “Ash” in post-production, which co-stars Aaron Paul. Also on the way for the actress: the limited series boxing drama “la Maquina” with Gael Garcia Bernal and Diego Luna.

So when will “Fountain Of Youth” come out? Ritchie plans to shoot the film in early 2024, which means it could be ready by the end of the year. But with two films likely already on the way for the director this year, don’t be surprised if Apple and Skydance wait to release “Fountain Of Youth” in Summer 2025. That’s still eight films in six years for Guy Ritchie, who’s putting workhorses like Ridley Scott to shame right now.
