When you trace back the origins of modern TV series, a lot of them go back to “Lost.” The early-2000s mystery series was one of the first to break the conventions of episodic storytelling, focusing on serialized stories and mysteries. This launched a number of immediate copycats, and it continues to be a highly influential series more than a decade after it ended. Now, the producers behind that show are looking to keep the formula going with a new show, “From.”

As seen in the trailer for “From,” the show follows the creepy events of a small town where people seemingly can’t leave. Once they enter, they end up unable to actually depart. And worst of all, at night, evil spirits/monster things are begging to be let inside their homes. All in all, it’s a pretty terrible place to be.
To make it even more of a “Lost” reunion, “From” stars Harold Perrineau in the lead role. He’s joined by an ensemble that includes Catalina Sandino Moreno, Eion Bailey, Hannah Cheramy, Simon Webster, Ricky He, Chloe Van Landschoot, Shaun Majumder, Corteon Moore, Pegah Ghafoori, David Alpay, Elizabeth Saunders, Elizabeth Moy, and Avery Konrad. The series is created by John Griffin. “From” is produced by “Lost” vets Jack Bender and Jeff Pinkner, with the latter also showrunning.
Here’s the synopsis:
The series unravels the mystery of a nightmarish town in middle America that traps all those who enter. As the unwilling residents fight to keep a sense of normalcy and search for a way out, they must also survive the threats of the surrounding forest – including the terrifying creatures that come out when the sun goes down.
“From” debuts on EPIX on February 22, 2022. You can watch the new trailer below.
