Got a Tip?

‘Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga’ Trailer: George Miller’s Gasoline-Soaked Vengeance Returns on May 24

Engines will rev and roar in the wasteland once more in May when George Miller’s “Furious: A Mad Max Saga” finally his theaters. The film, starring Anya Taylor-Joy and Chris Hemsworth, is a prequel to the events of “Mad Max: Fury Road” and a new trailer has dropped. The film is an exploration of Charlize Theron’s character, Furiosa, a mighty female warrior who was kidnapped as a young child from her utopian homestead only to be raised by killers and warlords to become just as ruthless as they are.

Hemsworth plays the villain of the pic, Dementus, a cohort of the Citadel warlord Immortan Joe, who also returns as a younger version of the character after playing the main threat of “Fury Road.” We’re all curious to see if this version will have Mad Max looming in the background or if, as we all assumed, Furiosa has inherited the Max mantle from Mel Gibson and Tom Hardy. The film also stars Alyla Browne and Tom Burke.

Here is the official logline for the pic via WB:

As the world fell, young Furiosa is snatched from the Green Place of Many Mothers and falls into the hands of a great Biker Horde led by the Warlord Dementus. Sweeping through the Wasteland, they come across the Citadel presided over by The Immortan Joe. While the two Tyrants war for dominance, Furiosa must survive many trials as she puts together the means to find her way home.

“Furiosa” will be racing into theaters on May 24, and it’ll be exciting to see where the “Mad Max” franchise goes from here, as there was a third wasteland film that Miller was developing alongside this new one.
