Ever since it was revealed that Giancarlo Esposito was going to make his MCU debut in “Captain America: Brave New World,” fans have been working overtime trying to figure out who his character might be. Then, there were set pictures floating around and people were still speculating. Honestly, there hasn’t been this much excitement about an in-production Marvel Studios film in a long time. And it’s difficult not to be excited when you hear Esposito talk about the role himself.
Speaking to Deadline on the red carpet of his new horror film, “MaXXXine,” Giancarlo Esposito talked more about what you can expect from his appearance in “Captain America: Brave New World.” According to the actor, you’re going to see a new side to him that you might not have seen in some of his more well-known roles.
“When you see me in the MCU, you’re going to see a badass, and I’m excited for that,” teased Esposito. “You haven’t really seen me use my body in a way that I’ll be using it. The MCU is exciting. I can’t tell you who I play, but you’re gonna be excited when you see it.”
This is far from the only time Esposito has hyped up his MCU debut. He also recently shared that his character will start in ‘Cap 4’ before moving to a TV series. Even though we have no idea what that might mean, the idea of Esposito showing up in a Marvel TV series was enough to get fans all in a tizzy. That comment came on the heels of another quote from Esposito where he said that his character is “better than you can imagine.” Seriously, he has a PhD in making fanboys freak out.

We’re still quite a ways away from knowing exactly who Esposito will be playing. If it’s that much of a secret, you have to imagine Marvel will likely keep the identity hidden until much closer to the release of ‘Brave New World.’ That film is supposed to arrive in theaters on February 14, 2025.
