Ginger Gonzaga Joins Marvel Studios' 'She-Hulk' Cast

With “WandaVision” arriving on Disney+ last week, Marvel Studios has officially entered the world of streaming TV. But make no mistake, the superhero factory isn’t slowing down anytime soon. In fact, there are at least three more (likely four) TV series from Marvel coming to Disney+ later this year, and the company is already moving forward with casting on a series coming sometime in 2022, “She-Hulk.”

According to Deadline, actress Ginger Gonzaga has been added to the cast of the forthcoming Marvel Studios series, “She-Hulk.” While the exact character has yet to be revealed, it’s being reported that Gonzaga will portray Jennifer Walters’, aka She-Hulk, best friend in the show. As we have already learned, the main role is going to Tatiana Maslany of “Orphan Black” fame. Gonzaga also joins Mark Ruffalo, who plays Bruce Banner, in the cast of the series.

“She-Hulk” tells the story of Jennifer Walters, the cousin of Bruce Banner, who also gets poisoned by Gamma energy and turns into a large, green superhero. However, Walters differs from Banner because she’s actually always in her She-Hulk body and is also a lawyer.

Gonzaga is probably best known for her role in Showtime’s dramedy series, “Kidding.” She has also shown up in recent series such as “Space Force,” “Living with Yourself,” and “Room 104.” Her most recent feature is “Bad Therapy” from last year.

It’s unclear when “She-Hulk” will officially debut on Disney+. The superhero series is expected to begin production sometime this year and probably land on the streaming service in 2022. “She-Hulk,” as mentioned, is part of Marvel Studios’ massive plan for Disney+, which includes upcoming series such as “The Falcon and the Winter Soldier,” “Loki,” “Hawkeye,” “Ms. Marvel,” “Moon Knight,” and many more.
