Set twenty years after "Jurassic Park," "Jurassic World" is a direct sequel to Steven Spielberg’s blockbuster classic, largely ignoring whatever happened in "The Lost World: Jurassic Park" and "Jurassic Park III" since they technically took place on other islands. So it’s back to the old stomping grounds, but of course, there will be danger there.
“The T. Rex in this movie is the same T. Rex from ‘Jurassic Park,’” director Colin Trevorrow told Hero Complex. “She’s been on the island for 22 years. She’s still alive. She’s a little older, and she’s angry.” And overall, a big push is being made to connect this new movie with the magic of the first film. A new featurette spends the first third of its running time, reminding everyone how great "Jurassic Park" was before really diving into "Jurassic World," and even then, a bulk of it is scenes from the trailer interspersed with talking head stuff.
Check out some new images, that aforementioned featurette, plus a new TV spot. "Jurassic World" arrives on June 12th.
