Can a young girl be something far more sinister? “Good American Family” explores a family that has been forever changed after an adoption. Mysteries surrounding their adopted daughter prove to be far more devastating, leading the girl to question her past. The Hulu Original series is inspired by true events that shocked the country.

‘Family’ hails from series creator and executive producer Katie Robbins, who also acts as showrunner with executive producer Sarah Sutherland. Liz Garbus directs and serves as executive producer on the pilot. Robbins is familiar with intriguing projects, having previously created 2024’s sci-fi mystery “Sunny” for Apple TV+.
The upcoming series features a talented cast: Ellen Pompeo, Mark Duplass, and Imogen Reid star. Recurring guest stars include Dulé Hill, Christina Hendricks, Sarayu Blue, and Jenny O’Hara.

Told from multiple points of view as a means to explore issues of perspective, bias, and trauma, this compelling drama is inspired by the disturbing stories surrounding a Midwestern couple who adopts a girl with a rare form of dwarfism. But as they begin to raise her alongside their three biological children, mystery emerges around her age and background, and they slowly start to suspect she may not be who she says she is. As they defend their family from the daughter they’ve grown to believe is a threat, she fights her own battle to confront her past and what her future holds in a showdown that ultimately plays out in the tabloids and the courtroom.
Andrew Stearn, Dan Spilo, Niles Kirchner, and Mike Epps also serve as executive producers on “Good American Family.” The Hulu Original series’ first two episodes premiere on March 19, with new episodes debuting weekly. Watch the trailer below.
