Last week, we ran a report that said Guy Ritchie’s next film, after “The Gentlemen” arrives in early 2020, will see the filmmaker return, once again, to the crime thriller genre. And now, it appears that is indeed the plan, as Deadline is reporting that Ritchie’s next film, produced by Miramax, will see the director not only give audiences another crime film, but bring back one of his favorite collaborators from earlier in his career.
According to the report, Ritchie’s next film is the untitled remake of the French film “Le Convoyeur.” The previous news said the film would be titled “Vigilance,” but perhaps that’s a bit too premature to be confirmed. And perhaps the best news of all, the untitled thriller will find Ritchie reteaming with his “Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels” and “Snatch” star Jason Statham.

The film is said to follow a mysterious character named H, who works for a cash truck company that works in Los Angeles and is responsible for moving millions of dollars around the city. The untitled movie will feature various points of view and jump around time to present a “mind-bending” experience. Honestly, the plot doesn’t matter, as I’m just excited to see Statham and Ritchie working together.
“I’m looking forward to bringing this story to life and working with Jason while he still has the use of his knees,” said Ritchie.
“Working again with Guy Ritchie on our second collaboration together, alongside renowned actor Jason Statham, is a privilege, and we anticipate that the tone and flavor of these two longtime friends will resurrect nothing less than a true, genre classic,” Miramax CEO Bill Block said.
There’s no release date set for the film.
