Sure, “Suicide Squad” is an ensemble piece, but let’s face it, there’s already a breakout character — Harley Quinn. The studio is already developing a spinoff focused on Margot Robbie‘s character, and it’s clearly already a fan favorite (I’d wager it’ll probably be one of the more popular cosplay choices this weekend at San Diego Comic Con). So this Harley Quinn-focused trailer for “Suicide Squad” will likely go over much bigger than, say, one featuring Killer Croc.

The promo is the latest in Warner Bros.‘ mega-push for the movie, as they roll out a number of character-centered trailers. The requisite amount of new footage is included, all while it underscores the sardonic tone the picture will be taking. At any rate, the agenda seems to be telling everyone this won’t be a Zack Sndyer frown fest.
“Suicide Squad” opens on August 5th.
