Harrison Ford On The Han Solo Force Ghost Theory: "I Don't Know What A Force Ghost Is...And I Don't Care!"

Fans would be incredibly naive to think that every actor that signs on to do a big franchise film based on some sort of popular IP is going to be an expert on everything associated with the series. Though Robert Downey, Jr. probably knows a lot about Tony Stark/Iron Man, a diehard Marvel fan could probably beat him at Marvel trivia, if push came to shove. But even with that being said, RDJ probably knows enough to sound educated about comic books. And if he didn’t, he probably would fake it just to avoid the ridicule. Well, Harrison Ford isn’t that type of guy. He’s not going to fake like he knows things about “Star Wars,” even if it does make him look, uh, less informed.

Speaking to USA Today, while out promoting his upcoming film “The Call of the Wild,” Ford was asked about his surprise cameo in the recent “Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker.” He explained how he came back, thanks to JJ Abrams’ very persuasive manner. Blah blah blah. It’s all very interesting if you still care about ‘Rise of Skywalker.’ (Frankly, it’s been months since the film was released and I’m just done with it.)

But the real reason we’re sharing the interview is Harrison Ford’s answer about whether or not Han Solo returned in ‘Rise of the Skywalker’ as a Force Ghost or just a memory. Somewhat surprisingly, Ford didn’t even entertain the idea of Han being a Force Ghost. Not because Han isn’t particularly Force-sensitive or anything like that. It was just because Ford doesn’t even know what a Force Ghost is.

“A Force ghost? I don’t know what a Force ghost is,” Ford said. “Don’t tell anyone. I’m not talking loud enough for your recorder. I have no (expletive) idea what a Force ghost is. And I don’t care!”

On the one hand, you have to applaud Ford for not even giving a shit about sounding ignorant about something “Star Wars” related. In this day and age, where social media will crucify an actor for saying something they don’t agree with regarding a franchise, Ford shows a complete lack of fucks, and it’s refreshing. Then again, it is a bit funny that he doesn’t know what a Force Ghost is, considering they have been around for decades on film and have been used in multiple movies that he has starred in.

But hey, Harrison Ford is Han Solo, and that probably gives him a pass about such things, right?
