Also joining the cast and appearing in the series are Vera Farmiga, Fra Fee, Tony Dalton, Alaqua Cox, and Zahn McClarnon. According to Variety, Farmiga is scheduled to play the Marvel character Eleanor Bishop, the mother of Kate Bishop (Steinfeld). Fee will play a character named Kazi, potentially short for Kazimierz Kazimierczak, known as mercenary villain Clown to Marvel fans. Cox is a newcomer who will play Maya Lopez, the true name of the Marvel character Echo— a deaf Native American who is capable of perfectly copying another person’s movements. This ties into a pretty poorly kept secret and something that is adapted from the comics: Jeremy Renner’s Hawkeye character is expected to turn deaf in the series, one of the reasons he decides to retire and pass on the Hawkeye mantle to Kate Bishop, training her instead and being her mentor. The plot point has been rumored for some time now, and Renner was seen on set, in character wearing hearing aids yesterday.

McClarnon will play the role of William Lopez, possibly taking on Maya’s father Willie “Crazy Horse” Lincoln from the comics.
“Hawkeye” is currently shooting on location in New York. One of its on-location shoots before probably returning to locations like Atlanta, where Marvel usually shoots their movies and shows. The series is not expected to appear until 2022, but TV works fast, COVID-19 upended their schedule in 2021, and who knows, everything seems possible these days.
