Right as we start wrapping up 2023 and look ahead at the new year, HBO/Max has released a video that highlights some of the offerings coming next year and beyond. In the sizzle reel, HBO and Max are willing to give sneak peeks at shows and docs such as “The Sympathizer,” “Curb Your Enthusiasm,” “Industry,” “Jerrod Carmichael: Reality Show,” “The Jinx – Part Two,” “My Brilliant Friend,” “Elizabeth,” “The Franchise,” “The Penguin,” “Pretty Little Liars: Summer School,” “Tokyo Vice,” and “Hacks.” That’s a hell of a lineup. And that’s just part of what’s coming in 2024.
But going a step further, there is also just a brief clip of “Welcome to Derry,” the first spinoff from the “It” franchise. While it doesn’t show much of anything, we do get some quick clips and a shot of an iconic red balloon. So, that’s probably enough to keep “It” fans satiated until 2025 when that show is expected to arrive.

Overall, much like what Netflix does a couple of times a year with its sizzle reels, the HBO/Max video package is pretty damn impressive and it definitely gets you a bit more hyped for some of these shows. Will any of them take the spot of “Succession” or even “Barry” in terms of popularity and awards recognition? Is there another “Game of Thrones”-size hit there (other than “House of the Dragon,” obviously)? We’ll just have to wait and see how 2024 plays out.
