‘Hit-Monkey’ Trailer: Jason Sudeikis Trains A Monkey Assassin In Hulu’s Marvel Animated Series

Did you think a talking tree and gun-toting racoon were weird Marvel characters? Well, how about a Japanese snow monkey that dresses in a suit and becomes a world-class assassin? Yeah, we’re talking about one of the strangest Marvel creations, Hit-Monkey.

As seen in the trailer for Hulu’s new animated Marvel series, “Hit-Monkey,” the deep-dive superhero is literally a monkey who is also a hitman. It’s not just a clever title. The series tells the story of the aforementioned Hit-Monkey, who is psychically tethered to the ghost/spirit/whatever of a now-deceased hitman. With the help of his spiritual trainer, Hit-Monkey learns all the ways of being a suave, brutal assassin, as he goes on a rampage to punish those who wrong him.

Before you wonder when “Hit-Monkey” will eventually crossover with the Avengers and the rest of the MCU, it’s important to understand that the series was originally expected to be part of Hulu’s “The Offenders,” a series that would bring together some of the strangest Marvel characters that each got their own animated shows. The series is one of the final remnants of the Marvel Television group that was disbanded with Kevin Feige took over and brought everything else to Disney+, so there won’t be any MCU connections to speak of, similar to how the recently-released “M.O.D.O.K.” was handled.

The series stars the vocal talents of George Takei, Jason Sudeikis, Olivia Munn, Ally Maki, Nobi Nakanishi, and Fred Tatasciore. The newest (non-MCU) Marvel production is created by Josh Gordon and Will Speck, the filmmakers behind features such as “Office Christmas Party,” “The Switch,” and “Blades of Glory.”

“Hit-Monkey” debuts on Hulu on November 12. You can watch the trailer below.

Here’s the synopsis:

After a Japanese snow monkey’s tribe is slaughtered, he joins forces with the ghost of an American assassin and together, they begin killing their way through the Yakuza underworld.
