'Hotel Artemis' Trailer: Jodie Foster Leads An All-Star Cast In This Stylish Action/Crime Film

Many filmmakers have to start small with their directorial debuts. Normally, your first film is a little indie project, and you’re lucky to get one major star to sign on. For Drew Pearce, his debut film, “Hotel Artemis,” has one of the strongest casts you’ll see all year. Needless to say, he’s one lucky guy.

In the first trailer for “Hotel Artemis,” we get to see an all-star cast, which is headlined by Jodie Foster, as guests in an off-the-books hospital for criminals called the Hotel Artemis. Foster plays a doctor who cares for those in need, but much like the Continental Hotel in “John Wick,” the Artemis has some very strict rules. No killing. No guns. And no harming the staff. Unfortunately, as we see in the trailer, when a criminal brings in a very expensive pen, the hotel becomes under attack by a ruthless crime boss.

Joining Foster in the cast is Sterling K. Brown, Jenny Slate, Charlie Day, Zachary Quinto, Sofia Boutella, Dave Bautista, and Jeff Goldblum, as the aforementioned crime boss. You’d be hard-pressed to find a better cast in theaters this Summer, outside of “Avengers: Infinity War.”

The film is written and directed by Drew Pearce, who got his start on British TV but hit it big when he wrote “Iron Man 3.” This marks his feature film directorial debut. Previously, he wrote and directed a short film for Marvel Studios called “All Hail the King.”

“Hotel Artemis” hits theaters June 8.
