While “I Think You Should Leave with Tim Robinson” seems to get all of the memes and dominate the social media discourse with each new season, HBO’s “How To with John Wilson” is another example of alternative comedy done in a brilliant way. Where Tim Robinson might hit you over the head with a frenetic pace and outlandish situations, John Wilson is the awkward narrator of your journey through the heart of New York City, showing just how the mundane can be hilarious. But as with all good things, even ‘How To’ has to eventually come to an end.

With its upcoming Season 3, we’re sad to say that “How To with John Wilson” is ending its run on HBO. However, as we see in the new trailer for Season 3, Wilson’s unique brand of comedy is very much still intact in the final batch of shows. The trailer isn’t so much a tease of the various episodes, but instead, the trailer is almost like its own episode, a little distillation of what exactly ‘How To’ strives to be.
Unfortunately, describing ‘How To’ with mere words makes it seem dull and boring. The show is basically a montage of various clips that Wilson records as he travels around New York City. Sometimes it’s a random guy riding a mechanical horse outside of a convenience store, but other times, it’s just a woman scratching her own back. However, when you combine these elements with Wilson’s writing and observations, you get something that is truly hilarious.
Basically, just watch the trailer. If you think it’s funny, you should be watching the show ASAP. “How To with John Wilson” Season 3 debuts on HBO on July 28. You can watch the trailer below.
