Got a Tip?

Selena Gomez Joins Steve Martin And Martin Short In Hulu Comedy Series ‘Only Murders In The Building’

Selena Gomez has been tapped to take the very coveted spot in the new Hulu comedy series “Only Murders in the Building” alongside comedy legends Steve Martin and Martin Short.

Back in January, Hulu gave a straight-to-series order to “Only Murders in the Building” which is based on an idea by John Hoffman (“Grace and Frankie“) and Martin (as in Steve), who will also write the show. The show will revolve around three strangers (Martin, Short, and Gomez) who share a (probably healthy?) obsession with true crime, and suddenly find themselves wrapped up in one.

In addition to co-starring, Gomez will also serve as executive producer alongside Martin, Short, Hoffman Jess Rosenthal and “This is Us” creator and “Life Itself” director, Dan Fogelman.

This will be Gomez’ first regular TV role since her role on the Disney Channel series “Wizards of Waverly Place.” Though Hulu has found success in true-crime before, this is a rare true-crime comedy for the streaming platform. That being said, having Martin and Short in your comedy short seems like a sure way to at least guarantee plenty of laughs.

If “Only Murders in the Building” ends up being half as funny or intriguing as the fantastic Netflix show “American Vandal,” then we could have a sure-fire hit in our hands. There is still no word on when production will begin, or when we might watch the show on Hulu.
