Got a Tip?

‘Game Of Thrones’ Actor Iain Glen Cast As Bruce Wayne/Batman…In DC Universe’s ‘Titans’

For months, fans have been asking the question, “Who’s going to be the next Batman?” Well, if you were one of those outside-the-box thinkers and put a bet on Iain Glen, then congrats! You’re the big winner. No, that doesn’t mean Glen is ready to suit up for Matt Reeve’s upcoming film, instead, he’s going to play Bruce Wayne in an upcoming appearance on DC Universe’s TV series “Titans.” Yeah, a bit of a letdown, huh?

Deadline is reporting that Glen is signed on to portray the billionaire playboy, with a penchant for dressing up as a giant bat and stalking the criminals of Gotham City, in Season 2 of the series “Titans.” Obviously, Glen is set to portray an older version of the superhero character (no offense), but it’s unclear if he’ll ever get a chance to suit up at Batman.

Instead, this is how the producers of the series describe Bruce Wayne:

“After decades of fighting crime as Batman, billionaire Bruce Wayne is just as driven to protect Gotham from evil as he was in his prime. Needing to reconcile his relationship with Dick Grayson, the duo hope to forge a new dynamic as Bruce tries to help his former sidekick and the Titans achieve success.”

Glen is probably best known as Ser Jorah Mormont on “Game of Thrones.” He’s also shown up in the popular British series “Downton Abbey,” as well as the feature films, “The Iron Lady,” “Lara Croft: Tomb Raider,” and “Kick-Ass 2.”

For those that aren’t subscribers of DC’s streaming channel, “Titans” tells the story of Dick Grayson (aka Robin) and his team of young heroes, as they fight evil and whatnot. The story takes place years after Batman and Robin broke up, with the latter venturing off into his own crimefighting career without his mentor.

It’s unclear when Season 2 will debut, except for the fact that it will be in the fall.
