'Immaculate' "Holy Hell" Trailer: Final Preview For Sydney Sweeney's Horror Movie Promises A Scream Of An Ending

2024 didn’t get off to a great start for Hollywood rising star Sydney Sweeney with the dismal critical response to “Madame Web.” But that’s one lull for the young actress in three straight years of ascendant stardom. And it’s a period where she’s dabbled in all sorts of genres: from rom-coms like “Anyone But You” to erotic thrillers like “The Voyeurs” to Sam Levinson‘s take on teen drama in “Euphoria.”

So what genre will Sweeney tackle next? How about a straight horror film? That’s what “Immaculate” is, and NEON‘s final trailer promises that it’ll be a scream …a prolonged, agonizing, near-delirious scream. Check out the trailer below to see what we mean by that.

Here’s an official synopsis for “Immaculate,” courtesy of NEON:

Sydney Sweeney stars as Cecilia, an American nun of devout faith, embarking on a new journey in a remote convent in the picturesque Italian countryside. Cecilia’s warm welcome quickly devolves into a nightmare as it becomes clear her new home harbors a sinister secret and unspeakable horrors.

Along with Sweeney, “Immaculate” also stars Álvaro MortreBenedetta PorcaroliDora RomanoGiorgio Colangeli, and Simona Tabasco.

Michael Mohan directs “Immaculate,” his second project with Sweeney after 2021’s “The Voyeurs.”  Andrew Lobel writes the film’s script. Sweeney leads producers on the film with Teddy SchwartzmanDavid BernardJonathan Davino, and Michael Heimler.
