‘In Treatment’ Teaser: Uzo Aduba Stars In HBO’s Revival Of The Acclaimed Drama Series

More than a decade ago, HBO premiered the drama series, “In Treatment.” The show was positioned in an interesting time in the network’s history. The half-hour drama came after HBO became synonymous with “prestige” due to shows like “The Sopranos” and “The Wire.” However, the series was about 5 years too early, before folks like Netflix and other streaming services would become household names on the back of more recent prestige series. Ultimately, after three seasons, “In Treatment” ended its run. But as with everything in Hollywood, what is old is new again, and thus, “In Treatment” is getting a revival.

As seen in the teaser for the fourth season of “In Treatment,” the series is rebooting itself with a new cast of characters but a similar premise. The show tells the story of Dr. Brooke Taylor (Uza Adubo, “Orange is the New Black”), a psychiatrist, dealing with her own complicated life, that empathetically helps her clients, who are all experiencing issues that mirror the real world. The original series starred Gabriel Byrne in the lead role.

As mentioned, the revival stars Aduba in the lead role. She’s joined by Anthony Ramos (“In the Heights”), Liza Colón-Zayas (“David Makes Man”), John Benjamin Hickey (“Jessica Jones”), Quintessa Swindell (“Euphoria”), and Joel Kinnaman (“The Suicide Squad”).
