'Indivisible Healing Hate' Trailer: New January 6 Capitol Riots Docuseries on Paramount+ Is A Searing Indictment Of A Reality-Challenged America

Happy January 6! It’s the one-year anniversary of when nothing happened! Honestly, there’s no greater way to prove someone’s bullshit sense of patriotism and loyalty and love of country than the events of January 6, 2021, and in a sane world, people on every side of the political spectrum could agree these events, an attempted coup was deeply insane and violent.

Of course, there was a terrorist attack on the U.S. Capitol building that fateful day, and if you think that’s bullshit, well conservative Senator Ted Cruz just called it a “violent terrorist attack on the Capitol.” That’s correct, but the bad faith part of that is that Cruz, like many Republican Senators, helped downplay the events of January 6 and called it a peaceful protest. So which one is it?

Another searing example of some of the toxic, corrosive hypocrisy of it —not to mention the willful gaslighting that was central to their manipulation—is perfectly illustrated in a recent “The Daily Show” clip where Fox News and Republican spox rage on about the violence and agitation of Black Lives Matter protest footage and play it over January 6 footage. The various bad faith pundits go hoarse complaining about the outrage of violent “mob” protesters hurting law enforcement officers, the horribleness of violence and intimidation, and chaos, and overall lawlessness while the January 6 footage makes their exact point. In short, it’s not OK when it happens at Black Lives Matter protests, it’s just total chaos, but when it happens at the January 6 Capitol riots in favor of Donald Trump and overturning a fair and legal election result, these same people—who of course, spent months downplaying January 6—are totally ok with it.

Now it’s typical for Fox News and Republicans to look like mendacious, unethical liars sprouting propaganda 24-7, but it even gets worse when there is brazen text evidence—revealed recently by the January 6 committee where they communicated and colluded with the White House spox to urge Trump to tone down the rhetoric—that Fox News pundits knew exactly how dangerous, violent, un-American and brutal the January 6 riots were in private but continued to minimize and understate and trivialize these awful events in their public broadcast because doing otherwise wasn’t in the best interest of their bad faith propaganda. Great party and channel you go there, guys (it’s insane how people can stomach it).

Conveniently, this all leads us to “Indivisible Healing Hate,” a new six-part docuseries on Paramount+ narrated by actor Mandy Patinkin. Here’s the official synopsis:
