Welcome to yet another rumor.
British model Rosie Huntington-Whiteley has reportedly won the race to replace Megan Fox in Michael Bay’s upcoming ‘Transformers’ sequel.
After the exit and subsequent war of words between Fox and Bay, a whole host of young and talented beauties were linked to replace Fox with thespian Gemma Arteton originally reported to be the front runner to play what will be a new character developed to cater the line up change.
GeekWeek, though, are now reporting that 23-year-old model Huntington-Whiteley will take over as Shia LaBeouf’s love interest despite having no acting experience. And while it is only a rumor at this stage, it’s definitely a move true to the Bay persona. After all, Fox’s preparation for her role in ‘Revenge Of The Fallen’ involved parading skimpy outfits for Bay and a male-strong contingent for five hours. So casting a lingerie model is probably more appropriate for whatever role he has in mind.
Huntington-Whiteley likely knows exactly what’s installed for her as well, having worked with the enigmatic Bay last year on his Victoria’s Secret commercial, an experience she summarizes as “15 miles of walking in heels in boiling hot weather.” If Bay happens to overstep the line, he may find himself having to deal with her current squeeze, British actor Jason Statham — now that’s a ‘Transformers’ movie we’d pay to see.
We have no idea how reliable GeekWeek is (we’d never heard of them before) and like everybody else who is reporting “sure thing” replacements for Megan Fox, they got their news from an “inside source.” We’re sure this news is likely to be denied/changed/rebuffed in the next few hours.
Anyway, shooting on the sequel is set to begin imminently for a July 1st release next year with the likes of Patrick Dempsey, Frances McDormand, John Malkovich, Alan Tudyk, Ken Jeong and Jamie Kennedy set to join LaBeouf, Tyrese Gibson, Julie White and Kevin Dunn in the new-look cast.
