‘It: Chapter Two’ Trailer: The Losers Club Are All Grown Up

Stephen King must be pleased with the number of prominent adaptations of his work coming in the next few years; after the success of films and TV shows like “Gerald’s Game,” and “Castle Rock,” producers have turned to King’s back catalog for properties to remake or bring to the screen for the first time, including the Jason Clarke-led “Pet Semataryremake, a miniseries of King’s magnum opus “The Stand,” and “The Shining” sequel “Doctor Sleep,” which wrapped production late last year. Unsurprisingly, one of these upcoming films is the sequel to the box office smash “It,” which now has a debut trailer.

It: Chapter Two” (which retroactively makes last year’s film ‘Chapter One’) brings to life the second half of the beloved book and sees the Losers Club return to Derry, Maine, years later, to take down Pennywise once and for all. Director Andy Muschietti describes his take on the new film as “the second half, it’s not a sequel. It’s the second half and it’s very connected to the first one.” This connection will supposedly extend to the first film’s younger actors, who will reprise their roles despite the time jump and the aging up of the characters. Evil resurfaces in Derry as director Andy Muschietti reunites the Losers Club—young and adult—in a return to where it all began with “It Chapter Two.” The film is Muschietti’s follow-up to 2017’s critically acclaimed and massive worldwide box office hit “IT,” which grossed over $700 million globally. Both redefining and transcending the genre, “IT” became part of the cultural zeitgeist as well as the highest-grossing horror film of all time. Because every 27 years evil revisits the town of Derry, Maine, “It Chapter Two” brings the characters—who’ve long since gone their separate ways—back together as adults, nearly three decades after the events of the first film.

Returning alongside the teenage actors is Bill Skarsgard as Pennywise the Dancing Clown, whose creepy portrayal rivaled Tim Curry’s famous take on the character and cemented him as one of the scariest monsters in recent cinematic history. Joining him in the film are James McAvoy, taking over as Bill Denbrough, Bill Hader as Richie Tozier, Jay Ryan as Ben Hanscom, Isaiah Mustafa appearing as Mike Hanlon, James Ransone as Eddie Kaspbrak, Andy Bean as Stanley Uris, and frequent Muschetti collaborator (and fan-favorite choice) Jessica Chastain rounding out the group as Beverly Marsh.

Reprising their roles as the original members of the Losers Club are Jaeden Martell as Bill, Wyatt Oleff as Stanley, Jack Dylan Grazer as Eddie, Finn Wolfhard as Richie, Sophia Lillis as Beverly, Chosen Jacobs as Mike, and Jeremy Ray Taylor as Ben.
