Jai Courtney Says 'Suicide Squad' Reshoots Are Adding More Action, Not Jokes

Suicide SquadWith extensive, multi-million dollar reshoots under way, the word is that Warner Bros. is looking to up the funny factor of "Suicide Squad." Apparently, that trailer everyone loved used up all the good jokes the movie has, so the studio brought everyone back to record more gags (remember last year when Margot Robbie compared the movie to "The Dark Knight"?). Or are they? "I wouldn’t say we’re going back to make it funnier. There’s some additional action stuff that we’ve been doing, which is really dope," he said.

Whatever they’re doing, it’ll be interesting to see how the reshoots — which some are saying will take upwards of three weeks — will be spun by Warner Bros. folks, particularly at major events like the upcoming Comic-Con (which they can’t really afford to sit out, especially given that they’ve added two more films to their DC slate). Funnier? More action packed? Or, maybe optimistically, just new scenes altogether. After all, there are rumors flying around that a sequel is already in the works, so maybe the crew are putting together some teaser material.

Watch Courtney’s comments below and we’ll know the whole deal when the movie drops on August 5th.
