Got a Tip?

James Gandolfini & Steve Carell Are ‘The Bone Men’

nullIt seems that James Gandolfini and Steve Carell have got along smashingly on the set of "The Incredible Burt Wonderstone." And while we'll have to wait until next Christmas for that movie to show itself, the pair are brewing up a project together that might see them take a step back in time.

Showbiz 411 reports that the duo are putting together a comedy entitled "The Bone Men," which isn't about what you think it is, so get your head out of the gutter. Instead, it will tell the tale of two paleontologists in the late 1800s. That's about all of the details right now, but apparently both HBO (where Gandolfini recently signed to star in "Criminal Justice") and Fox 2000 are interested. We like both of these guys just fine, but the world of paleontology comedy is small, and the last attempt to mix dinosaurs and laffs was "Land Of The Lost," which didn't work out so well. So fingers crossed this has a different approach.

So just put it on the to do list for now, but no word on anything else like writers or directors. Carell's next scheduled big screen appearance is as a voice in "Despicable Me 2," though he's also in "The Way, Way Back" which we presume will do some festival play next year. Meanwhile, Gandolfini stars in "Not Fade Away" from his "The Sopranos" pal David Chase. It's the Centerpiece Film at the New York Film Festival which starts Friday.
