After their work together on the Apple TV+ series, “See,” it appears that Jason Momoa and director Francis Lawrence are ready to work on their next collaboration, the upcoming adventure film, “Slumberland.”
According to Deadline, Lawrence is going to direct Momoa, along with Kyle Chandler, Chris O’Dowd, and Marlow Barkley, in a new fantasy film, titled “Slumberland.” The exact plot of the film is being kept secret, but it’s clear by the title, the film will be inspired by “Little Nemo in Slumberland,” which is a series of iconic comic strips from artist Winsor McKay dating back to 1905. In those strips, the character of Nemo is a young boy that finds himself in crazy predicaments in his dreams at night. Each strip would end with the young boy waking up.
As mentioned, Momoa and Lawrence worked together on the recent series, “See,” but both are probably best known for their respective franchise filmmaking. For Momoa, that includes his work as the superhero Aquaman in the self-titled franchise and the “Justice League” film. Lawrence is probably best known for his contributions to the “Hunger Games” franchise, including the forthcoming prequel.
Chandler is a veteran actor that many remember from his acclaimed role on the soapy football drama, “Friday Night Lights.” However, over the past decade, he’s been in a number of high-profile films such as “Zero Dark Thirty,” “The Wolf of Wall Street,” “Carol,” “Manchester by the Sea,” and “First Man.”

It’s unclear when “Slumberland” will go into production. However, we do know that Netflix is on board to distribute and produce the film. And honestly, given the studio’s proclivity for keeping release dates a deeply guarded secret, we can’t even begin to guess when we might see “Slumberland” land on the streaming service.
