Jeff Goldblum, Daisey Ridley & AOC Are Drag Race S12 Guest Judges

The Emmy-winning “RuPaul’s Drag Race” is returning for a 12th season a week from Friday and VH1 revealed what might be its most stellar lineup of judges ever. The network already revealed that Nicki Minaj will join the likes of Miley Cyrus, Lady Gaga and Christina Aguilera as a guest judge for the first premiere episode of a new season. We can now report that you better call your girlfriend cause the second episode of the “split premiere” will feature none other than Robyn.

The other new names ready to judging the runway are Oscar-winner and “View” co-host Whoopi Goldberg, Brooklyn Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, music icon Chaka Khan (her second appearance), “SNL’s” Leslie Jones, pop artist Normani, the timeless Jeff Goldblum, Rey herself Daisy Ridley, “Westworld” Emmy winner Thandie Newton, Olivia Munn, Golden Globe and Emmy winner Rachel Bloom, supermodel Winnie Harlow and “Mean Girls” co-stars Daniel Franzese and Jonathan Bennett. The show increasingly is finding “Drag Race” celebrity superfans who want to appear such as AOC, Ridley, Jones and Newton this season.

AOC also follows House Speaker Nancy Pelosi as the second member of Congress to appear on the series.

This season’s contestants include Aiden Zhane (Acworth, GA), Brita (New York, NY), Crystal Methyd (Springfield, MO), Dahlia Sin (Los Angeles, CA), Gigi Goode (Los Angeles, CA), Heidi N Closet (Ramseur, NC), Jackie Cox (New York, NY), Jaida Essence Hall (Milwaukee, WI), Jan (New York, NY), Nicky Doll (New York, NY), Rock M. Sakura (San Francisco, CA), Sherry Pie (New York, NY),and Widow Von’Du (Kansas City, MO). Michelle Visage, Carson Kressley and Ross Mathews return as regular judges.

“RuPaul’s Drag Race” is the two-time reigning Emmy champ in the Reality-Competition Series category and RuPaul Charles has won three-straight Emmys for Reality-Competition host. The series also won the PGA Award for Producer of Competition Television for the second straight year. “Drag Race” is coming off a critically acclaimed British season, “RuPaul’s Drag Race UK,” which was a monster hit for the BBC. It will once again face fierce Emmy competition in the 2020 Reality Competition category from “The Amazing Race,” “The Voice,” “American Gladiators,” “Top Chef,” “Project Runway,” “The Masked Singer,” “Nailed It!” and newcomers “Next in Fashion,” “LEGO Masters” and “Making the Cut.”

“RuPaul’s Drag Race” will return on Friday, February 23 at 8 PM on VH1 followed by a new season of the Emmy-nominated “Untucked” at 9:30 PM.
