'Jexi' Trailer: The Writers Behind 'The Hangover' Have A New Comedy That Mixes 'Her' With 'Fatal Attraction'

You’ve seen “Her.” And you’ve seen other films that feature artificial intelligence that grows sentient, and in some cases, tries to kill its “master.” But have you seen a film where the AI exists in a phone but grows jealous, “Fatal Attraction”-style? Well, now you have the chance, thanks to “Jexi.”

But don’t worry, “Jexi” isn’t some erotic thriller featuring a phone AI. No, instead, it’s a film that tells a “Fatal Attractions”-esque plot but with enough sex jokes to make Seth Rogen blush. The film follows a young online listicle writer that buys the latest, greatest phone with a state of the art AI called Jexi. However, when he develops a relationship with Jexi, but moves on to a real-life human girl, the AI goes crazy and starts messing with his life. Hilarity ensues.

But his Facebook status is about to change. When he is forced to upgrade his phone, the latest model comes with an unexpected feature…Jexi (Rose Byrne) – an A.I. life coach, virtual assistant and cheerleader. With her help, Phil begins to get a real life. But as he becomes less dependent on his phone, Jexi’s artificial intelligence morphs into a tech nightmare determined to keep Phil all to herself, even if it means ruining his chances of finding success.
