Joseph Gordon-Levitt & Chloe Grace Moretz To Star In New Film About Jonestown Massacre

The sad story of the Jonestown Massacre is hitting the big screen in a new film starring Joseph Gordon-Levitt and Chloe Grace Moretz, titled “White Night.”

According to Variety, director ​​Anne Sewitsky (“A Very British Scandal”) is set to helm the thriller, “White Night,” about Jim Jones and the mass suicide at Jonestown. The film will star Joseph Gordon-Levitt as the cult leader, Jim Jones, with Chloe Grace Moretz playing one of the cult’s inner circle members. For those unaware, back in the late-‘70s, Jones led his cult members to an isolated location near Guyana where they started a settlement called Jonestown. However, in 1978, the cult leader poisoned his followers, resulting in a mass suicide that took the lives of more than 900 people.

Gordon-Levitt has recently been seen in films such as “Project Power” and “The Trial of the Chicago 7.” He’s next going to be seen in the Showtime series, “Super Pumped: The Battle for Uber.” Moretz recently starred in projects such as “Shadow in the Cloud,” “Mother/Android,” and “Tom and Jerry.” Her next project is the upcoming sci-fi series, “The Peripheral,” coming soon to Amazon.

There’s no release date or distributor attached to “White Night” just yet, but it’s hard to imagine this won’t get scooped up soon enough.
