They may be of the same generation of actors, but Tim Roth and Guy Pearce have never shared the screen together. That’ll change soon, as Deadline reports the pair will star with DeWanda Wise in “Killing Faith,” a supernatural thriller. Sales for the film launch at AFM, going on now.

So what’s “Killing Faith” about? In the film, Pearce will play a faithless physician tasked with escorting Wise’s mother across a teacherous desert to find a cure for her daughter’s mysterious illness. But her daughter is more than merely sick: she’s possessed by the Devil. Roth plays a preacher in the film, ostensibly the one might cure Wise’s daughter.
“Middle Man” director Ned Crowley writes and directs “Killing Faith” with plans to start shooting the film in New Mexico next January thanks to a SAG-AFTRA interim agreement. It’s another upcoming movie for Crowley after “Inn Deep,” another horror-tinged picture. That film still awaits a release date.
Sales for “Killing Faith” start at AFM this weekend through Ellen Wander of Film Bridge International. Wander co-produces the film with Jordan Dykstra through FBI, along with Summer Crockett-Moore and Tony Glazer through Choice Films. Also on board as executive producers: Jack Christian and D.J. McPherson through Filmology Finance, along with Davud Guglielmo.
Add “Killing Faith” to the bevy of upcoming Guy Pearce performances. The actor stars next in “The Convert,” A New Zealand-set war film, but he also has “The Brutalist” and “Sunrise” coming soon, too, with both of those films in post-production. Pearce also stars alongside Diane Kruger, Vincent Cassell, Léa Seydoux and Viggo Mortensen in David Cronenberg‘s next pic, “The Shrouds.”
As for Roth, who’s still in final talks to star in “Killing Faith,” he recently starred in the Paramount+ series “Last King Of The Cross.” He also has two films coming up: “Poison” and “Classified.”
Wise had a breakout role in “Jurassic World Dominion” last year. Up next, she stars in the Showtime series “Three Women” as well as the film “Poolman.”
Crowley called his cast a “dream come true” in a press statement for “Killing Eve.” “They are true actors’ actors, unafraid to delve into the depths of morally complex characters,” he said. Let’s see if Crowley’s film measures up to these actors’ respective statures. Expect “Killing Faith” to get a late 2024 release given that production on it starts in January.
