‘Kindred’ Trailer: An Pregnant Woman Fears For Her Life In Joe Marcantonio’s Debut Thriller

It looks like film distributor IFC Midnight will continue to keep us entertained and scared at home as the theater business continues to struggle. The independent film distributor has released an impressive slate of indie horror films this summer, including “The Wretched,” “Relic” and “Sputnik.” Upcoming IFC Midnight film “Kindred” will soon be added to the growing list of impressive genre films.

The film follows mother-to-be Charlotte as she is taken in after her late boyfriend’s sudden death by his mother Margaret and her stepson Thomas. However, things don’t seem to be as they appear, and Margaret becomes increasingly obsessed with Charlotte’s every move. But once Charlotte starts having foreboding visions, she’s convinced Margaret has malicious intentions for her unborn child.

“Kindred” is the debut feature film of director Joe Marcantonio, who was previously known for a 15-year long career of shooting commercials for major names such as Amazon, Microsoft, and Paul McCartney. His film stars Tamara Lawrence (“The Long Song”), Jack Lowden (“Fighting with my Family”), Anton Lesser (“Game of Thrones”), and Fiona Shaw (the “Harry Potter” series).

A psychological thriller rippling with suspense, Kindred follows vulnerable mother-to-be Charlotte (Tamara Lawrence) as she is taken in by her recently deceased boyfriend’s mother (Fiona Shaw) and her stepson (Jack Lowden), who seem increasingly obsessed with her every move. Plagued by mysterious hallucinations, Charlotte’s suspicions grow about Margaret and Thomas’ intentions for her unborn child.
