It seems everyone wants a piece of Taron Egerton. Over the past few weeks, the trades have (over)played a seemingly manufactured "battle" between studios and tentpole projects for the actor, but it seems everything has worked out. Warner Bros. have secured the actor for "Robin Hood: Origins" (lol) and Fox has the young man reprising his role as Eggsy in the sequel to "Kingsman: The Secret Service," which now has a release date.

Fox has set "Kingsman: An Unnecessary Follow-up" for June 16, 2017. It’s a big move, with the studio having faith that their spy-spoof flick is big enough to be a summer movie contender. ‘Kingsman 2’ will open the same weekend as "Cars 3," one week after "World War Z 2" and one week before "Wonder Woman."
It’ll be interesting to see if Fox continues to stick with an R rating or has to make concessions to land the kind of numbers needed to be a summer blockbuster success.
Still no word on how or if Colin Firth will return, but everyone involves seems to want to write him back into the sequel so we shall see. Thoughts? Let us know below.
